Turning Lemons into Lemonade

The silver lining to our late arriving Spring or layover Winter (glass half empty or half full?) is the unexpected excitement of it all.

This morning, my kids saw huge, I mean HUGE snowflakes coming down. They looked like cotton balls! Instead of being bummed that it’s not 70 degrees and sunny, we took full advantage. My daughter was already dressed and my son was still in his pjs, but who cares? We threw on our snow gear and busted it outside. The big flakes were gone but it was still snowing. We got out the sled and piled on. The eight year old steered with the baby in her lap. The five year old was the middle man and the mommy (that’s me) sat as anchor in the back. We flew down the driveway and stopped short of knocking ourselves out on the garage door. What fun!
The school bus drove past on the way to pick up the middle schoolers. We waved. He yelled out the window “Have fun!” And we did.
Look on the bright side today!
